I'm Votin' For The Common Man
Written, produced and performed by Charles Lallo.
After hearing so many people expressing their frustration and mistrust with not only the candidates for this
up coming election but also mistrust of leaders present and not to distant past for allowing our nation to fall
into such a dismal situation I was prompted to write this song. We are suffering in every sector from healthcare,
education, political misuse of power and funds to a shameful bahaviour toward too many of our veterans and on and on.
I hear people expressing their feelings of disappointment and anger in local restaurant conversation to call in radio shows.
Recently, hearing some people talking about their intentions to not vote and how they feel betrayed by our government
I decided to write this song that expresses a right we have that many may not be aware of or maybe forgot about.
It is our right to write in whatever name we deem suitable. Therefore, after giving it some thought and somewhat
empathizing with their position I decided that maybe by writing in our own name we can "send a message of disgust
to those we do not trust". Anyway, out of sheer frustation myself this song has come about. For the most part I don't
view myself as radical. I simply see myself as a man that loves America and the potential it has but has become very
frustrated by the way our leadership have put themselves far above "a government for the people" and has seemingly
deceived and let down the good people of America.
Thank you.
