"An Artistic Musical Endeavor"

Welcome to the official site of Charles Lallo

I began my musical experience with the accordion at the age of 8. A few years earlier ( particularly since there were only a few years prior to that time) I was influenced by my mothers' singing along with her 3 sisters to produce the most beautiful harmonies that to this day still resonate in my heart and mind. My mother was always singing around the house and had a most beautiful voice. When I started singing with my instrument I would always ask her how I sounded. I can remember her saying for me to "sing it not talk it". she has always been my number one critic. If is was good with her then it was good with me. She was my ultimate litmus test.

At parties the entire family would gather around me and my accordion singing Italian folk songs, patriotic songs and popular songs of the day. My mothers three brothers were all singers as well as some of her sisters husbands. The sound that surrounded me was an awesome array of beautiful passionate voices. My father was not a singer. The extent of his musical experience was playing the beugel in the Army which I think was no easy task. However, throughout all my years my wonderful, beautiful dad was my biggest supporter from the very beginning right up until this present day.

After five years of playing the accordion I progressed to the guitar and organ. I started my first band the "Tidal Waves". We played engagement parties, school dances, birthday parties and at the ripe age of 13 I was the MC and performer for numerous weddings. We must have been a very economical form of entertainment for those that hired us to play their wedding reception. We also had the opportunity to play at the RKO Theater in Newark, NJ before 3500 people. That was an experience I'll always remember.

As I grew into my teens and twenties I continud to play and must say I was blessed to have played with some very talented and dedicated musicians. At a point in my life I decided that I was turned off to the "business of music" although not to the "art of music" so I continued to create music on my own terms which was music I believed to be important to my purpose in life. I created music that expressed what I thought was important in terms other than market value although I believe my writing always gravitated toward a very contemporary and marketable product. But, I was in no rush and in no great need to achieve "fame and fortune" if it was even at all in the cards for me. The music that was important for me to express ranged from topics such as boy-girl love to man-woman love to love of the divine. I also have a radical aspect that often expresses itself in a song of protest and patRIOTism as well.

My most influencial models were Lennon-McCartney as well as George Harrison and a parade of others including Al Kooper, Eddie Brigati and Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals, Neil Diamond, Paul Anka bands such as Chicago, Mountain, Bruce Springsteen and too many others to mention. For me it was a matter of creating music not only for entertainment but to also carry a message or sometimes hidden meaning that can help someone somewhere and in someway. I always had this desire to be able to show society the way, like I had an answer or something to sociey's problems. I must have thought much of myself however to this day I still believe I have something that can be of value toward creating a better world. I was driven to find my purpose in the scheme of things and in seeking to do so I discovered that my purpose is "to give purpose". Hopefully I can succeed at this.

It was at the ripe old age of nine I had started a duet with my clarinet playing friend. Right off I was thinking about and searching for a band name. At the earliest age I remember that the right band name was very important to me. It seemed to signify standing for something and having a meaning. In this search I was riding in the back seat of my fathers car on a sunny Sunday afternoon as my father would take my mother and me out for Sunday dinner. On our way we passed a "Hamburger-Hot Dog" place that was a popular hangout. It was called Tippy's and was located in Jersey City, New Jersey where I grew up although my first six years were in Hoboken, NJ where my mother was from as well as the famed Frank Sinatra. Outside of Tippy's hung a sign advertising their "open charcoal hearth". It was then that it struck me that in the word "hearth" were the words "earth" and "heart". I put that in the back of my mind and forgot about it until I was 18. At that age I was thinking about God and life and love and environment and my own spirituality. I was raised a Roman Catholic and now at this time in my life I became curious about the Hindu and the Buddist way of life so I began studying their spiritual writings. I became an avid practicioner of yoga, meditation, working out in the gym and reading about spirituality, mysticism and metaphysics as I was seeking to learn about the deeper aspects of life and God as well as become the best I could be. I remember reading that music comes from the soul. I had known this but for some reason at this particular time it resonated deeply. This sent me on a path whereas if I wanted my music to be the best I can have it be then I better get my soul in order. This is what put me on a path to seeking to learn as much as I could about myself and my relationship and that of humankind to God. The basic premis of the religions I am aware of is "know thyself". So, that seemed to me to be the most sensible place to began my journey. I started writing my thoughts on the spiritual and mystical nature of us humans....Yeah! You mans :) I was writing an article called "Our Earth, Your Heart". I was intrigued by the fact that one simple character could change the word "our" which conotes plural possession to "your" that conotes singular possession simply by adding the character "y". Other languages such as Hebrew, Japanese Chinese and others use symbols to communicate and entire thought. This prompted me to notice how one letter in the English language could make a huge difference in it's meaning such as from "yours" to "ours".

Anyway, I'm reading my article back and suddenly realize that what I'm really writing about is "Earth" and "Heart". At that moment I felt catapulted back to the time in my fathers 1955 Ford Fairlane and then I was immediately thrust forward in the future to see the implications of such a profound and awesome synchronicity of "earth" and "heart". My first thought was could it be mere hasppenstance that "the most basic and important element outside of us, our EARTH, our Home EXternal and the most important and basic element inside of us, our HEART, our Home INternal are two words with identical characters in identical sequence. Also, exact same numerological value. From a songwriters point of view we try to use universal themes so here I am feeling blessed at taking notice of what I thought to be a theme of all themes. These two words no only express our home internal and our home external but also two "common denominators" to every one of us. They transcend race, color, religion, culture and just about all else that seems to divide and segment us from each other. I saw them as a ray of hope from the Grace of God and Universal order to show humankind that we are connected and as a way to unite these very much un-United States of America. They represented to me a unifying force for us to accomplish our purpose on this planet and create a sort of heaven on earth for all people by example and by beginning right here at home first. Anyway, I realize this sounds like a lofty goal however I believe it to be a noble and achievable one and one that America needs to pursue so as to discover our identity as a nation, a culture and as individuals.

In my effort to learn if this synchronicity of EARTH and HEART is mere happenstance I made many uncanny connections and discoveries that evolve from these two words that I now refer to as EARTHEART®. The discoveries I speak of I believe have the momentum to elevate an individual and our nation and the planet to a level of heart/mind I refer to as "modern enlightenment". It actually reveals to us a level of reality I call "Truth Reality™". It is a reality steeped in divine and universal principles that we need to harmonize with if we want our lives to be one of well-being and fullfilment as well as having accurate end results as opposed to the kind of results that come about from thoughts and actions that are based upon lies, half truths and illusion or Maya as the Hindus refer to the world of illusion which can only bring about warped results such as we see everyday in our "modern day society".

I like to say that the message I convey of EARTHEART® is not attempting to convert anyone. I believe the concepts can apply to any faith or non faith. By this I mean all religious persuations as well as atheists. I'm hoping to share this vision/message in the hope that we can use this concept to transcend all differences and find a platform in which we can unite. Therefore, I dare not be biased to you for any of your beliefs and hope you will not prejudice me for my beliefs. I will accept you for who your are and ask you to accept me for who I am and not to have any misunderstandings I'll say it right now and forever let it be known that I owe all to my Lord and Savious Jesus Christ.

Allow me to share with you the discoveries I have made from my attention upon EARTHEART®. My writings will reveal many "happenings" that we never take notice to and that once they become part of your awareness you wil be on your way toward better living as well as being part of a united movement or move-meant to bring about a transfromation for all of us into a life of peace, harmony, tranquility, love and happiness. It is ours to claim and for future generations to inherit. It is ignorance that causes pain and suffering on this planet and it is "modern enlightenment" that will shed the light that will dispell the shadows and put an end to unnecessary pain and suffering. Your attention upon EARTHEART® will also point you in a direction that will prompt you to notice "happenings' going on all around us that you have not noticed before as a door is opened to your "mysical aspect" that is laying dormant within every one of us. We are all mystical beings and unfortunately our society seems to surpress rather than encourage mysical thinking. I believe it is this void that is at the root of many of our addictions. I may be mistaken about this last statement but it is my opinion and I hold firm to that belief.
